This wine cellar on the summit in Los Gatos holds roughly a thousand bottles. But then there’s also room for cases perhaps 1200?
The owners wanted to use black walnut. Every piece out of that is all solid black walnut and we then installed LED lights in key spots for indirect lighting. Most people in this area would use redwood but the walnut’s much richer looking material because it has so much more character to it. So even though they’re small pieces there’s a lot of character when you actually look at it up close. We added a sliding library ladder rack that allows you to reach up to the top shelves.
